We have really enjoyed our Bible Curriculum this year. We used a study by Deeper Roots Publication called, Discovering Our Amazing God, a look at the many facets of God's character. This week we finished the book, looking at God's mercy. There was a suggestion that we find a way to show mercy to someone else. We weren't sure how we would show mercy and we weren't sure what we were going to do the rest of the year for Bible curriculum.
Eventually we decided to go to a local nursing home and see if we could volunteer for an hour or so.
When we showed up at the facility nearest our house, the activity director ushered us into her office and told us how thrilled she was that we were there. She told us how she had been praying that morning as she traveled to work, for people to come and help out. She wanted to know if we could give our time each week, spending time with the residents, talking and playing games and giving one on one attention. We said, YES, we would love to come each week - and we know what we'll be doing for the rest of the year for Bible.
The workbooks are great, but we're not going to order more for the rest of the year.
We're going to put some feet to our studies!

I KNOW the residents will enjoy having your kids visit - and they will be blessed.
I remember doing that! What a blessing to those people you must have been. Awesome.
That will be a blessing! And what a great experience for your kids. Some things just can't be learned in a book.
What a blessing you'll be to the folks there, and I know they'll bless you, too!
Just popping in to let you know I have an award for you on my blog. Stop by and check it out.
And BTW, I really like your new layout.
