One of the best thing about having 18 kids is the grandkids that follow along and today I had the joy of welcoming Leah Rose into the family. She's perfect and adorable.
Oh Leah - the things we're going to do together! I love you.

Sugar Makes All Things Right
I dropped in last week to visit my granddaughter Scarlett. She took one look at me and hid under a table. I didn't take it personal. I did however start working on a plan to once again win her affections.
What did I come up with?
Fruit Loops. I met her and my daughter at Ikea today and handed her a pink bag (the pink part was important) with a box of this sugar drenched cereal. (The sugar was also intricate to the plan as her mother is one of those people who believe that children should eat healthy food - I never raised her to be that way, but kids do what they want.)
And Scarlett said, "I love you Grandma Kate".
YES!!

2 Times the Fun
Haven't been able to blog the last few days. Our almost two year old granddaughter, Layla, has come to stay with us for six days while her parents have gone on a business trip. (I'm hoping for a new grandchild out of the deal.) Layla has teamed up with our two year old, taken the house over and left us very tired but happy by the end of each day. I'm sure Layla is delighted that her grandparents have toys and diapers and strollers in stock and an "uncle" to play with. We may be very old parents of a toddler but we're so very young grandparents . I think someone spiked the babies' apple juice today as there was a four in a row disgusting diaper thing going on with both of them but everything else was just peachy. Gotta go sleep before they wake up!
