Whale There You Go

  I do love the Awana program at my parent's church.  I love filling my van up each Wednesday night with my kids and the grand-kids, a few neighborhood kids and my mom. I drop them all off, spend the evening ALONE  shopping, and then return and pick them back up. It's noisy and crowded but nice.
  Tonight was Hawaii night and my grand daughter Lauren won the prize for the best behaved. So along with all the kids and my mom, and the great deals I found at Goodwill, we also stuffed this very large, very amazing, prize whale into the van. 
  Luckily I only had to transport.  My daughter Lane gets to deal with it after we docked!

An Inheritance

 Lauren, my 3 year old granddaughter, ran into the house last week.... "Guess what Grandma Kate?  I believe in Jesus!"  I hugged her right off her feet and said "Me too!" 
  How thankful I am that my own grandmother, Aida, made sure that my dad knew Jesus.  My parents were faithful to show me who Jesus is and I had the sweet privilege of sharing Him with my own children, including Lauren's mom Lane.
  My prayer is that one day Lauren's granddaughter will run into her house and love Jesus too.

Deuteronomy 4:9  “Only take care, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things that your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. Make them known to your children and your children's children

  

Summer Rides

  The last few weeks of summer are slowly ebbing away and I'm enjoying each precious minute.  The skateboards, scooters and bikes are still getting a workout and Lauren caught a few rides down the driveway with Ezra.  Layla learned to ride the scooter and I just sat on the porch loving the day.  








Stay a little longer summer.

Slipping Away

 As our local grocery store is featuring Candy Corn and Reese Cups with pumpkin - I'm not making this up -there really was a halloween display - we've been scheduling the last few events of summer.  We still have a camping trip planned and the kids are finishing up the last of their five Vacation Bible Schools.  (And I have zero guilt over sending all my kids to the local churches for VBS.  They love it - I love it and it has to be better for them then wrestling each other.)
  So, it's one more hamburger and nobody does it cuter than my granddaughter Lauren.
